While Christianity is seemed to be a “religion” by mainstream opinion, but true born again believer’s will tell you it’s actual just a belief and relationship with God. Christians are those that’s spirit has been born again through belief in Christ dying & resurrecting for their sins. It’s receiving the gift that was not available freely until the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That gift is access to the Holy Spirit. By letting a Christian live through the power of the Holy Spirit in their life and using the Word of God in their lives, a Christian will live abundantly. By believing truly in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins we also will be saved on judgement day, escaping the second death. This is the new covenant or New Testament. It’s the Age of Grace that all that believers can take advantage of.

Jesus started His ministry at the age of 30. During His time He fulfilled many prophecies made. He chose 12 disciples and traveled through Israel performing miracles, being amongst the people, speaking in great parables. He was perfect. He drew in great crowds and became very popular.

After Jesus ascended back into heaven, he left Peter and his other disciples to build His church. The Apostle Peter (“Saint Peter” to the Roman Catholic Church) met with Paul and they went out to spread the gospel that Jesus revealed to them. Paul is a major figure in the birth of Christianity. He was once a Jew that persecuted believers in Christ. He did it well and passionately. One day on the road, Jesus met Saul at the time, blinded Him, and set him up with Peter. From there Paul would be the Apostle to spread the gospel the furthest.

Everyone knows the story of Moses, who through the power of The Lord, made Pharaoh free the children of Israel of captivity. This was done through many plagues set out by The Lord, but the final straw was when God killed all the firstborn children of Egypt. He passed over all of the children of Israel’s home that put lamb’s blood over their door. This was known as the Passover and is celebrated by the Jews every year since.

Now Joshua takes Israel into the land of Canaan, the promised land of Israel. The 12 tribes spread out. The capital Jerusalem, was in the land of the tribe of Judah. Now when they were conquering their land they were led by the power of the Holy Spirit. When they were able to conquer land is because the power of the Holy Spirit was present. When they conquered land but kept some of the idols or money that the pagans had it quenched the Holy Spirit. They would lose battles until they destroyed the idols and killed the idolaters.

During Solomon’s rule, he placed heavy burdens on the people of Israel like taxes in order to prosper the land. When he died, Rehoboam became King. The other tribes came to him to release the taxes and burdens placed by Solomon. Rehoboam listening to ill advisers took a strong approach. This provoked the northern tribes of Israel to break away from Judah. The land of Israel was now divided. The 10 northern tribes of Israel and the tribes of Judah and Benjamin.

It is plain to see based from the scriptures about idolatry, that idolatry is a major issue. There are countless scriptures that tell us to stay away from idolatry. More scriptures that show what happened to the children of Israel when they began eating things sacrificed to idols. When they held on to idols and the things of the accursed, they began to lose battles and they were cursed. Only until they did away with the idols were the curses lifted. Other scriptures show that idolaters and the like will not inherit the kingdom of God.
